Mr P Subramanian Chettiar, was the founder of YG Asafoetida. He was born on 1912 in a village 10 kms from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, India. In 1932, Mr.P Subramanian Chettiar was started a company in Tirunelveli, for manufacturing Asafoetida Under brand name of Y.G with Special emphasis on quality. It is one of the most prominent player in India. Now the Third Generation Product V.G Asofoetida Spreads its wings globally. It is a well known fact that South India is famous for its spicy foods. Y.G Compounded Asafoetida is specifically tuned to the palates of the spicy South Indians.

After its visionary founder Mr. P. Subramanian Chettiar, now the company has widened its area of operation under the strenuous management of his grandson Mr.P Subramanian. The company having the head Corporate office at Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, which market the products all over south India through a channel of area wise distributors under the brand name V.G with Tree logo.
